Everything you need to know about automotive EMC testing and E-mark type approval certification according to UN ECE Regulation 10. Covering ESAs, components and complete vehicles.
UN ECE Regulation 10 (R10) is published by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. It defines electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for vehicles, electronic sub-assemblies (ESAs) and separate technical units used in automotive applications.
R10 is recognised by 57 contracting party countries and covers all vehicles and electronic components intended for those markets. The current version is Revision 7, published 8 July 2025. Both Revision 6 and Revision 7 are applicable during the transition period until 1 September 2029.
R10 Revision 7 introduces testing of radiated immunity up to 6 GHz — an important change for modern connected and electric vehicles.
Simple ESA (single voltage, one operation mode): from ~$3,500. Complex ESAs and vehicles: higher. Kontakt us for a precise quote based on your product.
